If you stay in the south of Tenerife make sure you take the road to El Teide vulcano via the village Vilaflor for an awesome road trip with some picnic spots along the good maintained roads and awesome woods, which are btw different than the woods up North!

Forgot to have some breakfast? You can get some food at the Vilaflor Square across the church before you leave for the El Teide. I ordered old school ensalada mixta at Restaurante La Fuente and Nalden a bread roll with vegetables, boiled egg and mayonnaise. Unfortunately the stores are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so make sure you did your picnic groceries in advance.
