This is my favorite beach! North of the capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz at the end/beginning of the highway Sur is Playa de Las Teresitas. An awesome clean sand beach with a small harbour where locals run, take a quick swim after, the elderly practice their dance moves and the place where I met Lucas.

Lucas doesn’t speak English and thinks that the tourist should speak Spanish to him or at least try too. Fair… Lucas has fresh orange juice made from tasty naranja’s and delicious simple and fresh seafood tapas which you can find in the glass cases made in their kitchen. If you’d like to upgrade your habla Espanyol I recommend you to hang out with Lucas.

We visited Lucas a couple of times and think his home made tuna salad, squid salad and creamy croquetas de pollo where awesome and so did a lot of his regular customers. This place is packed from noon until the sun goes down. I hope by the time you’ll visit Playa de Las Teresitas there won’t be an all inclusive resort built from the ground up.
